First huge home improvement project is on it's way.... I (well not me...some guy i'm paying) will be replacing ALL the the storms around my house...  my huge victorian duplex house.......

I'm excited to get set up for the cold weather and snowy days.  I'm hoping the new storms off set the rustic wooden wobbly sash windows

and someday.....soooomeday.... I may be able to afford and have time to restore my sashes. I may be retired by then though.

Thrifting makes me hungry.

My favorite part of thrifting (besides the great finds we have in our shop) is stopping at a local diner to get breakfast.

This morning Lisa and I were both so hungry, we thought we would try a new diner that I had never tried before.  It was amazing!

Meet Matilda Ray

... doggie niece of mine.  We call her Matti

She enjoys sitting in window sills, beef jerky treats, 24/7 belly rubs, and munching on paint stirring sticks from home depot...

...not a big fan of being forced into a seat belt i guess....

I had this favorite necklace once. It was a loooooong brass chain with a simple wooden heart on it. I wore it everyday.

One fatal bachlorette party made it break in two. The heart broke off and was probably swept up the next morning at the dance club.....

Ever since I've been on a look out for the perfect replacement goes-with-everything necklace.

Vintage Update

This was our first Vintage photoshoot at my new home.

Found the most perfect location in my back alleyway.  Luckily I live in a neighborhood with houses from the 1900s and earlier (mine is 1896!).  And finding a rusty barn door was a piece of cake.

Find all of these at GirlLeastLikelyVintage

Many more to come as well.  We barely made it through half of our stash!

Less than a month away!

This is my second year at Renegade Craft Fair Chicago- summer. I can't be more excited about it.

...and of course I'm going to procrastinate on all my designs.

Searching for a perfect warm colored high waisted skirt

With wider hips I'm unable to pull off full skirts with pleats and gathers...

these are just perfect though...pockets add detail to the simple cut.

See you soon, Tulum.

Escaped city life for a bit last weekend on my family's annual camping trip...

Last year it was so chilly we were unable to do anything summer-like.  However this year was just the opposite, we all thrived in the heat.

Our day out on the lake in upper Wisconsin made me wish my November Mexican vacation to arrive sooner!

We'll be staying in non-electricity huts right on the beach.

See you soon! Tulum, Mexico!

Pendleton meets Open Ceremony

From Here

A few 'chilly' days this week has made my summer set mind revert to fall already.

Even though the heat wave returned, I can't stop myself from wanting a chilly fall day.... and this blanket to snuggle up in.  From Pendleton's collaboration with Open Ceremony made of 100% wool.

Redooooo

The blog is getting a makeover.
Instead of just me working on it, Tara and I are joining forces

Two good friends working in a stuffy cubical corporate job. This is our distraction

We'll be blogging about life, friends, style, thrifting, biking, my new home, and mainly, our vintage news and updates.
